Angels, catcher agree to one-year contract

The Los Angeles Angels have reached a contract agreement with catcher Jeff Mathis, avoiding arbitration by settling on a one-year deal.
Mathis, whose defense and leadership behind the plate have played a big part in Los Angeles’ success in recent years, and the team agreed to a one-year, $1.7 million contract. ( Read More…)
